Original cast members Andrew Garman, Brendan George, and Jennifer Van Dyck will return.

Clubbed Thumb has announced the return of The Family Dog, which premiered in last June’s 2026 Summerworks festival of new plays. Written by Bailey Williams and directed by Tara Ahmadinejad, the production will return with the original cast and creative team.
The Family Dog will run February 9, 2027-March 6, 2027, with an opening night scheduled for February 15, at New York Theatre Workshop.
In the play, Winona returns to her childhood home to say goodbye to the pet who replaced her. Dan Rubins wrote in his TheaterMania review of the Summerworks production, “Ahmadinejad conjures up some rambunctious performances, but the laughs seem more often to generate from goofy line readings instead of from the text itself, which is pretty pessimistic about our capacity to make our squabbling, selfish families shape up before death comes for us all.”
The cast includes Andrew Garman, Brendan George, Bruce McKenzie, Ethan Dubin, Jennifer Van Dyck, Sarah Steele, and Pulitzer Prize finalist Talene Monahon.
The creative team includes Colleen Murray (scenic design), Mel Ng (costume design), Masha Tsimring (lighting design), Ben Vigus (sound design), and Esti Bernstein (production stage manager).
