In honor of the 100th anniversary of Houdini’s death on Halloween, October 31, 1926, Houdini: A Magical Musical will launch a US tour in 2028, prior to a planned limited Broadway engagement. Houdini: A Magical Musical won the award for Best New Musical at the PTMs in Spain.

Written and directed by Federico Bellone, the musical follows the magician’s last show in Detroit, bouncing between the events on the stage, the backstage that night, and flashbacks of his past.

Houdini A Magical Musical features original music by Giovanni Lori, influenced by Houdini’s Hungarian origins, magic and illusions created by Paolo Carta, and choreography by Gillian Bruce. The show includes more than 20 illusions, including the new appearance of an elephant and a new interpretation of the legendary Chinese Water Torture Cell.

The musical premiered in Italy in English with an American cast led by Ryan Silverman. It then continued with an open-ended engagement in Madrid, featuring a Spanish cast.

Casting and tour dates for the US tour will be announced at a later date.
