The annual event kicks off the 2017 ”Radio City Christmas Spectacular”.
Radio City Music Hall got a head start on the holiday season today when the Radio City Rockettes and Santa Claus brought their annual Christmas in August event to Sixth Avenue.
The event kicked off when the Rockettes stopped traffic in front of the iconic marquee with the double-decker Gray Line CitySightseeing bus featured in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular number "New York at Christmas."
Additionally, the Rockettes and the Madison Square Garden Company announced their "Gift of Joy" program to bring the spirit of the holidays to those who deserve some extra cheer. The event was hosted by John Foxx of the radio station 95.5 PLJ.
Performances of the Christmas Spectacular begin November 10 and will continue through January 1. The annual show has been performed at Radio City Music Hall since 1933. It is presented by MSG Entertainment, the live entertainment arm of the Madison Square Garden Company.
