Raise a Glass With Three Day Hangover's Drunkle Vanya

Three Day Hangover, a New York City theater company that produces classic plays in unique locations, is currently in performance for its irreverent take on Chekhov's Uncle Vanya. Aptly retitled Drunkle Vanya, performances are held at Tolstoy's Lounge. This boozy take on the Russian classic is adapted and directed by Lori Wolter Hudson.

Drunkle Vanya tells a story of lost youth and unrequited love "as if it were suspended in time," mixing modern references with Chekhov's story and language, and incorporating the audience in a series of drinking games. There is a full bar and small plates of Russian delicacies curated by Russian Samovar throughout the performance.

The six-character interactive and immersive production boasts a cast featuring Joel Rainwater as Vanya, Amanda Sykes as Yelena, Christopher Tocco as Astrov, Leah Walsh as Sonya, Sean Tarrant as the Professor, and Josh Sauerman as Waffles. Caitlin Cisek is the costume designer. The production stage manager is Brooke Bell, and assistant stage manager is Serena Montsma.
