Ragtime Announces Cast at Goodspeed Musicals

The cast includes Mamie Parris, Michael Wordly, David R. Gordon, Brennyn Lark, and more.

Goodspeed Musicals has announced the cast for Ragtime, its first production of the 2025 season. Directed by Christopher Betts, Ragtime runs April 25-June 15 at the Goodspeed.

Featuring a book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty, and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, the musical is based on the novel by E.L. Doctorow. Set in turn-of-the-century New York, Ragtime weaves together the stories of three fictional families striving for the American dream.

The cast features Mamie Parris (Cats, School of Rock) as Mother, Michael Wordly (Spamilton) as Coalhouse Walker Jr., David R. Gordon as Tateh, Brennyn Lark (Six) as Sarah, Edward Watts (The Fantasticks) as Father, Behr Marshall as Younger Brother, Sawyer Delaney as Little Boy, and Sofie Nesanelis (Wedding Band) as Little Girl.

The ensemble will feature Jordan Alexander, Shaunice Maudlyn Alexander, Mia Bergstrom, Tommy Betz, Jodi Bluestein, Yophi Adia Bost, Jonathan Cobrda (Houdini), Jalyn Crosby, Joseph Fierberg, Mia Gerachis (Evelyn Nesbit), Blair Goldberg (Emma Goldman), Nathan Haltiwanger, Benjamin H. Moore (Booker T. Washington), Jeremiah Valentino Porter, Rory Shirley, Stephen Tewksbury (Grandfather/Conklin), and Matt Wall.

Swings for this production are Henry H. Miller and Xavier Turner. Robin Louise Miller will understudy Little Boy/Little Girl.

Sara Edwards will choreograph the production. Music direction will be by Goodspeed’s resident music director Adam Souza. The production also features scenic design by Emmie Finckel, costume design by Stephanie Bahniuk, lighting design by Charlie Morrison, sound design by Jay Hilton, and wigs, hair, and makeup design by Tenel Dorsey.
