Producer Richard D. Zanuck Has Died

Oscar-winning producer Richard D. Zanuck has died at age 77 in Los Angeles of a heart attack, according to published reports.


The son of legendary movie mogul Daryl Zanuck, he produced the Oscar-winning 1989 film version of Alfred Uhry’s Pulitzer-Prize winning drama Driving Miss Daisy, along with the 1992 television pilot, as well as Tim Burton’s 2007 adaptation of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s Sweeney Todd.


His many other producing credits include Jaws, The Verdict, Cocoon, The Road to Perdition, and Dark Shadows.
