Phil Collins will offer a series of concerts at Roseland this summer, June 22-25.
Collins, who rose to fame with the group Genesis in the 1970s, has written such hits as “In the Air Tonight,” “Against All Odds,” and “Two Hearts.” He wrote the music for the Disney animated film Tarzan, winning a Golden Globe for “You’ll Be In My Heart,” and composed additional songs for the Broadway stage adaptation of the movie. In addition to his work as singer and songwriter, he has worked as an actor, appearing in such films as Tommy and Hook.
Just before his appearances at Roseland, the singer/songwriter will, as previously announced, receive the Johnny Mercer Award at the 2010 Songwriters Hall of Fame in ceremony to be held on June 17 at the Marriott Marquis in New York.
