The New York Musical Theatre Festival, which will run September 28-October 18, has announced its complete schedule. Member tickets are currently available (click here for details), and tickets go on sale to the public beginning September 1.

The Next Link selections include Academy, conceived and developed by Andrew Kato with book, music, and lyrics by John Mercurio; All Fall Down with book by Greg Turner, music and lyrics by Selda Sahin; Fantasy Football: The Musical?, with book, music and lyrics by David Ingber; Fat Camp, with book by Randy Blair and Timothy Michael Drucker, music by Matthew roi Berger, and lyrics by Blair; Marrying Meg, with book, music and lyrics by Mark Robertson; and Mo Faya, with book and music by Eric Wainaina with additional music by Joshua Mwai, Morris Otis Omollo, and Helen Akoth Mtawali; My Illustrious Wasteland, with book, music and lyrics by Tod Kimbro; Open the Dark Door, with book, music and lyrics by David Lefort Nugent; Plagued, book and lyrics by Vynnie Meli and music by Casey L. Additional programming will also include two dance musicals. Andy Warhol Was Right features a concept by Melinda Atwood, Sammy Buck, Dan Acquisto, Daryl Gray, and Shea Sullivan, with book by Sammy Buck and music by Dan Acquisto. Giovanna Sardelli directs, with choreography by Daryl Gray and Shea Sullivan. Encore has a concept by Daniel Gwirtzman, music by various artists, and direction and choreography by Gwirtzman.
Special events will include the new South Korean musical My Scary Girl, part of a new production exchange program with the Daegu International Musical Festival in South Korea; Count To Ten, with book by Michael Blevins, lyrics by Blevins and Beth Clary, and music by Blevins, Scott Knipe, Bruce Sacks, and David Wollenberger; Deep Cover, featuring book, music and lyrics by Michael Wolk; The Greenwood Tree, with music and concept by Will Reynolds and text by Shakespeare; Letters To Daddy, Jr., with book by Jill Jaysen, music and lyrics by Mark Shepard, conceived and developed by 4e Productions; Liberty, with book and lyrics by Dana Leslie Goldstein and music by Jonathan Goldstein; Moisty the Snowman Saves Christmas, with book and lyrics by Bradford Scobie, music by Bradford Scobie, and Christian Dyas; One Night Stand, by Quinn Beswick, Adam Cochran, Kobi Libii, Samantha Martin, Josh Margolin, Jonah Platt, Mollie Taxe, and Andrew Resnick; Rated RSO: The Songs of Ryan Scott Oliver; and R.R.R.E.D: A Secret Musical, with book by Adam Jackman, Katie Thompson, and Patrick Livingston with music and lyrics by Katie Thompson.
Developmental readings will include Punk Princess, featuring book and lyrics by Yasmine Lever and music byPassing Strange creators Stew and Heidi Rodewald; Live! Nude! Girl! with book and lyrics by Donna Kaz with music by Wayne Barker; and Nightingale and the Satin Woman, with book by William Kotzwinkle and Elizabeth Gundy, with music and lyrics by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, based on the book Herr Nightingale and the Satin Woman.
NYMF’s educational series will include Triple Threats: Writers Who Write Book, Music AND Lyrics, moderated by TheaterMania contributor Peter Filichia and featuring guests Michael John LaChiusa, Monica Bauer and Bryan Putnam; Showtunes in Translation: The Global Appeal of Musicals, moderated by Michael A. Kerker, with guests Joe DiPietro, Mark Hollmann, Will Aronson and Kyoung-Ae Kang, and Eric Wainaina; and Next to Normal: A Journey from NYMF to Broadway, moderated by Isaac Robert Hurwitz and featuring Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey.
NYMF @ NITE events include In Therapy With Celine, with a book by Evan Storey featuring music by Celine Dion; Sing But Don’t Tell, with words by Sam Carner, music by Derek Gregor, and direction by Igor Goldin; the album launch party for Paul Scott Goodman’s Rooms; NYMF’s sixth anniversary season opening night celebration, and NYMF’s closing night festivities.
Partner events include ARGENTINA passionate!, created and directed by Roi “Bubi” Escudero and performed and choreographed by Rubén Celiberti; Jim Caruso’s Cast Party; and Musicals on Television at the The Paley Center for Media featuring screenings of The Bachelor (1956), Hans Brinker, or the Silver Skates (1958), Alice Through the Looking Glass (1966), and Carousel (1967).
