Brian Yorkey is the winner of the 2009 Tony Award for best original score for Next to Normal, for which he wrote the lyrics. His other credits include Making Tracks and The Wedding Banquet, adapted from the film by Ang Lee. Next to Normal marks his first Broadway endeavor. Yorkey is a graduate of Columbia University.
