Martin Shaw and Jenny Seagrove will star in a revival of Clifford Odets’ The Country Girl, which will play West End’s Apollo Theatre, October 6-February 26, after an eight-city UK tour, according to Whatsonstage.com. Rufus Norris will direct the production, which will be designed by Scott Pask, with lighting by Mark Howett and sound by Ben Harrison.

The play focuses on a once-great theater star (Shaw) who is offered a major role and the chance to make a comeback, and his long-suffering wife (Seagrove). The company will also feature Mark Letheren, Peter Harding, Nicholas Day, Luke Shaw, and Thomasin Rand.

Shaw and Seagrove have previously co-starred on television’s Judge John Deed. His stage credits include a 1983 revival of Country Wife and A Man for All Seasons. Seagrove’s many stage credits include The Constant Wife, Night of the Iguana, The Letter, and Absurd Person Singular.
