
Lea Delaria’s new CD, The Live Smoke Sessions, which was recorded in concert last fall at the uptown Manhattan jazz club Smoke, will be released online and in stores, September 9. Ghostlight Records, a division of Sh-K-Boom Records, is partnering with Warner Jazz for the worldwide release.
The album sets out to reinvent pop standards, and includes classic songs like “Down With Love,” “Night And Day,” “Love Me Or Leave Me” and “Come Rain Or Come Shine.”
DeLaria received a Theatre World Award for the 1998 revival of On the Town and also starred on Broadway in The Rocky Horror Show. Her many other stage credits include Hair, Happy Days, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the recent NYMF production of Roller Derby. DeLaria’s other CDs are titled Play It Cool and Double Standards.
