Goodspeed Musicals has announced the cast of Crazy for You, running June 19-August 9, with an official opening on July 1, at the Goodspeed.
Featuring music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin, a book by Ken Ludwig, and co-conception by Ludwig and Mike Ockrent, and inspired by material by Guy Bolton and John McGowan, Crazy for You is a musical comedy about Broadway hopeful Bobby Child sent to Nevada to foreclose on an abandoned theater. Bobby hatches a plan to save the town and get the girl—by putting on a show.
Will Burton will star as Bobby Child and is joined by Brittany Zeinstra as Polly Baker, Edward Juvier as Bela Zangler, Hailey Thomas as Irene Roth, Jeremy Davis as Everett Baker, David Andrew Morton as Lank Hawkins, and Michele Ragusa as Mother/Patricia Fodor.
The ensemble includes Claire Avakian, Willie Clyde Beaton II, Colin Bradbury, Courtney Brady, Kailee Regan Brandt, Katie Scarlett Brunson, Samuel Colina, Bradley Gibbins-Klein, Kelly Gleason, Taylor Lane, Brian Shimasaki Liebson, and Griffin Wilkins. Swings are Lexi Baldachino and Brandon J. Morris.
Michael Fling, Goodspeed’s associate artistic director, directs the production, with choreography by Kelli Barclay. Music direction is by Goodspeed’s resident music director Adam Souza.
The creative team also includes scenic designer Ann Beyersdorfer, costume designer Joseph Shrope, lighting designer Paige Seber, sound designer Jay Hilton, wigs, hair, and makeup designer Mary Lee, and orchestrator Ryan O’Connell.
