Kristin Chenoweth, Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Meryl Streep, Nine Cast, et al. Win International Press Academy’s Satellite Awards

The winners of the International Press Academy’s 14th annual Satellite Awards have been announced.

Rob Marshal’s film version of the Broadway musical Nine was named the year’s Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical, in addition to being named one of the year’s ten best films and earning a special achievement award for Best Ensemble, Motion Picture.

Performers honored individually in film categories include Meryl Streep for her performance in Julie and Julia and Michael Stuhlbarg for his performance in A Serious Man. Additionally, the documentary Every Little Step, about the recent Broadway revival of A Chorus Line, earned a Satellite Award for Best Motion Picture, Documentary as well as an award for Best Documentary DVD..

FOX TV’s Glee was named the year’s Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical, and earned awards for three of its stars, stage veterans Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele and Jane Lynch. In addition, Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth also picked up a special achievement award for her guest star turn on the series.

Other Satellite Award winners included Drew Barrymore (Grey Gardens), Glenn Close (Damages) and John Lithgow (Dexter).
