Kinky Boots star and Tony winner Billy Porter is currently directing The Colored Museum, by George C. Wolfe, for Huntington Theatre Company at the BU Theatre. The production, which runs through April 5, is a madcap and stinging journey through 11 looks at modern African-American culture — from the depths of the Celebrity Slaveship to the spinning heights of Harlem.

In this new behind-the-scenes video, Porter and his cast (Nathan Lee Graham, Rema Webb, Shayna Small, Ken Robinson, and Capathia Jenkins) discuss the play and comedy's special ability to make audiences receptive to "the hard stuff."
