Mixed Blood Theatre has announced casting for its upcoming regional premiere of Enrique Urueta’s Learn to Be Latina, to run April 20-May 13. Mark Valdez will direct.
In this comedy, aspiring singer Hanan is told that she’s unmarketable because she’s Lebanese. Desperate for fame, Hanan surrenders her ethnic identity for Latin pop stardom.
The cast will feature Jamie Elvey (Hanan), Bonni Allen (Jill), Brian Skellenger (Will), Seth Tucker (Bill), Hope Cervantes (Blanca), George Keller (Elena), and Aditi Kapil.
The design team will be comprised of Wrara Plesoiu (set design), Jeffrey Bleam (costume design), Karin Olson (lighting design), C Andrew Mayer (sound design), and Brently Davis (prop design).
