Flashback Friday: The Beautiful Vanessa Carlton Debuts "A Thousand Miles"

Earlier this week, Broadway got the news that singer-songwriter Vanessa Carlton will be making her Broadway debut this summer as another singer-songwriter, Carole King, in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. We've never seen her in a theatrical setting, but if there's one part of the Beautifull job that's sure to be no sweat, it's sitting behind a piano and singing to a crowd.

For all you '00s children out there, here's Carlton singing "A Thousand Miles" in her first television appearance promoting her debut album Be Not Nobody in 2002. With any luck, audiences at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre will get a special encore performance that sounds a little like this.
