Camille A. Brown is set to direct and choreograph the iconic musical.

The first-ever newly created Broadway revival of the beloved musical Dreamgirls is on tap for the fall of 2026, directed and choreographed by Camille A. Brown.
With book and lyrics by Tony winner Tom Eyen and music by Henry Krieger, Dreamgirls includes songs such as “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” and “One Night Only.”
Dreamgirls follows girl group The Dreams on their rise to success in the music world. The 1981 musical, directed and choreographed by Michael Bennett, was nominated for 13 Tony Awards, winning six; a film adaptation in 2006 won an Oscar for Jennifer Hudson. The original Bennett production was briefly revived on Broadway in 1987; this will be the first time since 1981 that the show is mounted on Broadway from scratch.
To cast the The Dreams, the production will hold auditions in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, Miami, London, Toronto, Mexico City, Amsterdam, Rome and Paris.
Further details are forthcoming.
