Award-winning director David Cromer has been tapped to directing the upcoming Broadway revivals of Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound, according to Variety.
The trade paper reports that the works, both of which center on the character of Eugene Jerome, will play in repertory this fall, with Brighton Beach expected to being performances first. No casting or other information has been announced.
The Chicago-based Cromer is best known for his work on the musical Adding Machine, which earned him Obie and Lucille Lortel Awards for its New York run earlier this year. His other credits include Perfect Mendacity and Our Town, which is reportedly slated to begin an Off-Broadway run in early 2009.
