Daniel J. Travanti will guest star as a serial killer in an upcoming episode of Criminal Minds, according to report on TVGuide.com. He will play a man whose brutal murders 20 years ago earned him the nickname “The Butcher,” and who now, suffering from Alzheimer’s, attempts to recreate his violent past.
Travanti is perhaps best known for his Emmy-winning role of Captain Frank Furillo on Hill Street Blues, and for his work on such series as Missing Persons and Prison Break. He made his New York stage debut in The Last Word…. Regionally, he has appeared in productions of All My Sons, A Touch of the Poet, The Guys, and Rhinoceros.
