Christine Lahti, Annie Potts, Jimmy Smits, and Ken Stott will be the new cast of Broadway’s God of Carnage, at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, beginning Tuesday, November 17.
The play, directed by Tony winner Matthew Warchus, is about a schoolyard dispute and its aftermath. It currently stars Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini, and Marcia Gay Harden (who won the Tony for her performance), who will play their final performance on November 14.
Lahti, who will play Veronica, won an Oscar for directing her short film Lieberman in Love, and won an Emmy for her portrayal of Dr. Kathryn Austin on Chicago Hope. Potts, who will be making her Broadway debut as Annette, is best known for her role as Mary Jo Shively in the television series Designing Women. Smits, who will play Alan, received six Emmy nominations for his role of Victor Sifuentes on L.A. Law, winning in 1990, and five Emmy nominations for his role as Bobby Simone on NYPD Blue. Stott, a four time Olivier-nominated actor, is reprising his role of Michael, which he originated in the London premiere of the play.
