Hope Davis's Broadway credits include the current God of Carnage and Lincoln Center Theater's Ivanov and Two Shakespearean Actors. Off-Broadway, she has been featured in Spinning into Butter (also at Lincoln Center), the Nicky Silver comedies Pterodactyls and The Food Chain, The Public Theater's Measure for Measure, and Classic Stage Company's Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet). She also did a staged reading at St. Ann's Warehouse of a piece by screenwriter Charlie Kaufman's called Hope Leaves the Theater, which also featured Peter Dinklage and Meryl Streep. Her films include Happy Together, Synecdoche, New York, Charlie Bartlet, Proof, American Splendor, The Secret Lives of Dentists, About Schmidt, Hearts in Atlantis, Joe Gould's Secrets, Mumford, Arlington Road, Next Stop Wonderland, The Daytrippers, and Flatliners. She has appeared on the television series Six Degrees, Deadline, and the second season of HBO's In Treatment. Davis's big break was the Chicago premiere of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow in 1989.
