Broadway Bares Announces 2016 Fire Island Return

The burlesque benefit will offer two shows on June 4.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has announced that the next edition of Broadway Bares Fire Island. An intimate version of the annual New York City extravaganza Broadway Bares, the one-night benefit will come to Fire Island Pines on June 4 with two performances scheduled to take place at 7pm and 9pm at Whyte Hall's Brandon Fradd Theater.

This year’s Broadway Bares Fire Island will take audiences on a sensual romp through a world inspired by mobile apps. "We live in an age where our best friends are our smartphones and every problem has us saying 'there’s an app for that,'" said director Michael Lee Scott. "Whether it’s a dating app, a streaming app or even just a weather app, all of us can relate to being glued to our smartphones. Rather than phones, our audience’s eyes will be glued to our performers as they reveal the sultry side of the techno era." All tickets will include free specialty cocktails on the Albert Lepage Pavilion at Whyte Hall a half hour before curtain.

Broadway Bares Fire Island will offer a sample of the main event on June 19 at the Hammerstein Ballroom entitled Broadway Bares: On Demand. The annual Broadway burlesque will feature more than 150 of the hottest male and female dancers in New York City and will offer two shows at 9:30pm and midnight.
