Boxcar Theatre to Present Tennessee Williams Festival

Boxcar Theatre has announced casting for its Tennessee Williams Festival, which will feature repertory productions of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, A Streetcar Named Desire and The Glass Menagerie, July 23 – August 28. Jeffrey Hoffman, Rebecca Longworth, and Jessica Holt, respectively, will direct.

The company for the productions will feature Lauren Doucette, Linnea George, Brian Jansen, Suzan A. Kendall, Hannah Knapp, Casi Maggio, Maggie McCally, Peter Matthews, Michael Moerman, Nick A. Olivero, Andy Strong, Juliet Tanner, Seth Thygesen, and Brian Trybom.

The creative team for the series will include Matt McAdon (scenic design), Olivia Griffin (costume design), Stephanie Buchner (lighting design), and Ted Crimy (sound design).

In addition, the theater will offer two Monday night series of free readings of short plays by Williams on August 16 and August 18. Among the works that will be included are Auto da Fe, This Property is Condemned, Long Goodbye, At Liberty, Moony’s Kid Don’t Cry, Green Eyes, Chalky White Substance, I Rise in Flames Cried the Phoenix, Adam & Eve on the Ferry, and Talk to Me About the Rain.
