Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts have announce the fourth annual New Works Festival, set to run April 28-30. The festival's readings are free, but tickets are required.

The three-day festival will include readings of plays and musicals in development. Each play will be read by professional actors in its entirety, accompanied by minimal staging. Each reading will be followed by a talkback during which the playwrights and the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions of each other and share their reactions to the play.

The new works included in the festival will be Molly Sweeney: A New Musical, featuring a book by Eric Ulloa, with music and lyrics by Caleb Damschroder, and based on the play by Brian Friel; The Impossibility of Now by Y. York; Thomas Murphy by Roger Rosenblatt, presented in partnership with the Flea Theater in New York City; and The Cocktail Party Effect by Scooter Pietsch.

The Bay Street New Works Festival is curated by Scott Schwartz, artistic director at Bay Street Theater, and Will Pomerantz, associate artistic director at Bay Street Theater.
