Alda, Daniels, Parker, Rudd, Strathairn to Join Howl Film

Stage veterans Alan Alda, Jeff Daniels, Mary-Louise Parker, Paul Rudd, and David Strathairn will join previously signed star James Franco in the feature film Howl, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, to be written and directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Epstein, will feature Franco as poet Allen Ginsberg and focus on his famous obscenity trial. Eric Drooker will create animated segments based on Ginsberg’s poem Howl and Carter Burwell write the score.

Alda will play judge Clayton Horn, Daniels will play professor David Kirk, Parker will play radio personality Gail Porter, Rudd will play literary critic Luther Nichols, and Strathairn will play prosecuting attorney Ralph McIntosh.
