Massie appeared in Peter Hall’s London production of Cat on a Hot Tim Roof opposite Kim Stanley, and worked frequently in film and television, including a BBC-TV production of The Philadelphia Story.
In 1966, he visited the fledgling University of South Florida to appear on stage as a guest artist, and stayed there for 30 years as a professor in its theater department, where he also acted and directed in many shows.
