Transport Group has announced the next installment of its Anne L. Bernstein Concert Series: Sweet Charity in Concert, taking place at the Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Music Center on Monday, June 17.

The company's artistic director, Jack Cummings III, will direct the concert, with music direction by Joey Chancey, and featuring a 23-piece orchestra performing the show's original Broadway orchestrations. Casting will be announced in the coming weeks.

Based on Federico Fellini's Nights of Cabiria, Sweet Charity centers on Charity's life as a dance hall hostess "with a heart of gold," determined to break out of the Fan-Dango Ballroom. The 1966 musical includes a book by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman, and lyrics by Dorothy Fields.
