Ted Chapin to Discuss Follies Book Before Blue Hill Performance

Ted Chapin will give a talk on his book Everything Was Possible: The Birth of the Musical FOLLIES at 6:30pm on Friday, November 4 at the DiCapo Opera Theater, preceding a performance of Follies by the Blue Hill Troupe.

Chapin, president of the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization, received great critical acclaim for the book, which focuses on his experiences as a “gofer” on the original 1971 production of the Stephen Sondheim musical.

The Blue Hill Troupe is celebrating its 82nd season of presenting both musicals and Gilbert & Sullivan operettas. Blue Hill has previously performed Sondheim’s Company, Sweeney Todd, and A Little Night Music.

Proceeds from all Follies performances as well as Chapin’s talk will benefit the Doe Fund, which works with the homeless. Tickets to the talk carry a suggested donation of $20; tickets to the performance are $30. Call 212-988-2012 for reservations.
