Simon Russell Beale and Zoe Wanamaker Set for National’s Much Ado

Simon Russell Beale and Zoe Wanamaker will play Benedick and Beatrice in the National Theatre’s production of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, which begins previews on December 10 at London’s National Theatre. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

The production will be helmed by Nicholas Hytner, the National’s artistic director, with sets by Vicki Mortimer, lighting by Mark Henderson, and music by Academy Award winner Rachel Portman.

Beale’s many stage credits include Monty Python’s Spamalot, Jumpers, Hanlet, The Alchemist, and Uncle Vanya.
Wanamaker’s many stage credits include The Rose Tattoo, Electra, Awake and Sing!, and His Girl Friday.
