Rock of Ages National Tour to Hold Open Casting Call in LA

The first national tour of Rock of Ages will have an open casting call in Los Angeles on May 13 at the Hollywood United Methodist Church. Casting director Tiffany Little Canfield will audition the aspiring actors, singers and dancers.

Auditions will be open to both Equity and non-Equity performers, ages 18-50. Singers will be seen from 10am – 1pm; female dancers will be seen at 1pm and male dancers will be seen at 3pm. Singers should prepare a brief a cappella rock song. Dances should be prepared to dance and wear appropriate clothing, including kneepads.

Rock of Ages, with book by Chris D’Arienzo, features the hit songs of rock legends like Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Pat Benatar and Whitesnake. The show centers on the romance between a a small town girl who comes to L.A. in the late 1980s and a guy with big-city dreams.

Directed by Kristin Hanggi and choreographed by Kelly Devine, the Rock of Ages national tour will, as previously announced, launch from the Bank of America Theatre in Chicago on September 21. The show will have its Los Angeles premiere at the Pantages Theatre, running February 15-27.
