Jonathan Freeman to Join Broadway’s Mary Poppins December 12

Tony Award nominee Jonathan Freeman will join the Broadway cast of the Disney musical Mary Poppins, at the New Amsterdam Theatre, beginning with the Saturday, December 12 matinee at 2pm.

Freeman will play the roles of Admiral Bloom and Bank Chairman, replacing Michael McCarty. The actor was Tony-nominated for She Loves Me, with other Broadway credits including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, 42nd Street, and The Producers.

The cast currently features Laura Michelle Kelly in the title role and Christian Borle as Bert, along with Jeff Binder (Mr. Banks), Rebecca Luker (Mrs. Banks), Valerie Boyle (Mrs. Brill), Ann Arvia (Bird Woman), Mark Price (Robertson Ay), and Ruth Gottschall (Miss Andrew). Juliette Allen Angelo, Kelsey Fowler, and Cassady Leonard alternate as Jane Banks; Jeremiah Kissane, Matthew Schechter, and Andrew Shipman alternate as Michael Banks.
