Rebecca Luker was born in Helena, Alabama and graduated from the University of Monticello with a B.A. in Music. Her vocal talents can be heard on an extensive back catalogue of musical recordings, including her most recent poetry-inspired release, Tom Herman/Music for Voice. She received a 2007 Bistro Award for her cabaret debut at The Regency, and her New York solo Concert debut at Lincoln Center as part of The American Songbook Series. Rebecca's Broadway debut was as the understudy, and eventual replacement, for Sarah Brightman as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera. Since then she has appeared frequently on and off Broadway as well as in many regional productions. She was nominated for Tony Awards for her work in Show Boat, The Music Man and most recently Mary Poppins, where she can currently be seen in the role of Winifred Banks. She is an inductee of the Alabama Hall of Fame.
