Hugh Sheridan to Offer October 7 Newley Discovered Benefit

Australian actor/singer Hugh Sheridan will offer a one-night-only performance of Newley Discovered at the Snapple Theater Center on October 7 at 8pm. Dean Bryant will direct the piece, which is a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The show, written by Bryant, pays tribute to stage and screen star Anthony Newley, and features songs by Newley, Leslie Bricusse, and Lloyd Price.

Sheridan first performed Newley Discovered at the 2009 Adelaide Cabaret Festival and subsequently took the piece to took the show to the Sydney Opera House in June 2010. In addition, he plays Ben Rafter on the Australian television show Packed to the Rafters and has released a trio of CDs.
