David Duchovny, Laurie Metcalf, Amanda Peet Now Set for MCC Theater’s 2010-2011 Season

Amanda Peet will join the previously announced David Duchovny in MCC Theater’s production of Neil LaBute’s The Break of Noon, to run October 28- December 12 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

Jo Bonney will direct the play. which focuses on John Smith (Duchovny), a man who sees the face of God during an office shooting. Peet will play both the man’s wife, Ginger, and Ginger’s cousin, Jesse. She appeared in LaBute’s This Is How It Goes at the Public Theater in 2005, and she was seen on Broadway in Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park. She and Duchovny have previously worked together in the 2008 film The X-Files: I Want to Believe.

MCC has also announced that Laurie Metcalf will star in Sharr White’s The Other Place, to run March 10 – April 24 at the Lortel Theatre. Joe Mantello will direct this play about a woman who finds herself at the center of a mystery just as she hits upon a potential breakthrough in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

Metcalf won an Obie Award last season for her work in Sam Shepard’s A Lie of the Mind. Among her recent Broadway appearances have been Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs and David Mamet’s November. She is best known for her Emmy Award-winning work as Jackie on Roseanne.
