Charles Busch and Julie Halston Lead the Primary Stages Production of Busch’s The Tribute Artist

The new comedy begins off-Broadway performances January 21.

Charles Busch, Julie Halston, Cynthia Harris, Keira Keeley, Mary Bacon, and Jonathan Walker will star in the upcoming off-Broadway premiere of Busch’s new comedy, The Tribute Artist, at Primary Stages. Directed by Carl Andress, the world premiere will run January 21-March 16 at 59E59 Theaters.

Busch leads the company as an out-of-work female impersonator who takes on the identity of his suddenly deceased landlady in order to remain in her Greenwich Village townhouse. The actor/writer has collaborated with Primary Stages on productions of his plays The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, Olive and the Bitter Herbs, and You Should Be So Lucky.

The Tribute Artist features scenic design by Anna Louizos, costume design by Gregory Gale, lighting design by Kirk Bookman, sound design by Jill BC Du Boff, original music by Lewis Flinn, and wig design by Katherine Carr.
