2004 OOBR Award Winners Announced

The winners of the OOBR Awards for outstanding Off-Off-Broadway productions during the 2003-2004 theater season have been announced. The awards ceremony will be held at 7pm on Monday, June 28 at Playhouse 91, located at 316 East 91st Street, between First and Second avenues.

According to John Chatterton, editor and publisher of The Off-Off-Broadway Review (Oobr), “Off-Off-Broadway is all too often overlooked in the theatrical scheme of things when it comes to awards. The OOBR Awards were created to help change that.” The complete list of this year’s winners follows:

In addition to these honors, three special OOBR Awards will be presented: to Theater 1010 for its production of Iolanthe; to the St. Bart’s Players for sustained achievement during 76 years of presenting Off-Off-Broadway theater; and, to the Wings Theatre Company, the “Everything Bagel” Award for the musical Vincent.
