Tony nominee Valarie Pettiford will bring her new solo show Valarie Pettiford: In Concert to the Upright Cabaret stage, September 19 and 20 at 9pm. Ron Abel will serve as musical director.
Pettiford received a Tony nomination for Fosse, and is also known for her television work, including House of Payne, Criminal Minds, and Half and Half. The concert sets out to be reminiscent of the special evenings that Sinatra, Garland and Streisand once gave in the intimate clubs of New York. It includes songs by Ron Abel and Chuck Steffan, which were written specifically for Pettiford.
