Works by Tracy Letts, Rajiv Joseph, Martin McDonagh, and More Set for Alley Theatre’s 2010-2011 Season

The Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas has announced selections for its 2010-2011 season.

Among the highlights are new stagings of two recent Broadway hits: Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer Prize-winning August: Osage County will be directed by Shannon Cochran (February 18-March 13), while Martin McDonagh’s black comedy A Behanding in Spokane, directed by James Black, will open the season, August 27-September 26.

The season will also feature two world premieres: recent Pulitzer finalist Rajiv Joseph’s psychological thriller The Medusa Body (April 29-May 29) and Herbert Siguenza’s new solo play A Weekend With Pablo Picasso (January 28-February 27).

Additional selections will include J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up, directed by Gregory Boyd (October 1-31); A Christmas Carol – A Ghost Story of Christmas, adapted and originally directed by Michael Wilson from the Charles Dickens tale, and now directed by James Black (November 19-December 27); David Sedaris’ The Santaland Diaries, adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello, directed by David Cromer, and starring Todd Waite (November 21-December 31); Peter Shaffer’s Amadeus, directed by Jonathan Moscone (April 1-May 1); and George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, directed by Gregory Boyd (May 20-June 12).
