Stage and screen star Ron Orbach will play the role of Nick Bottom in Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s production of Midsummer Night’s Dream, to run February 7-April 8. Gary Griffin will direct.

Griffin’s production of the play comes to life in a new age of self discovery. Sigmund Freud has introduced the Interpretation of Dreams — and Shakespeare’s forest becomes a playground of the subconscious.

The cast will also include Tracy Michelle Arnold (Hippolyta/Titania), Kurt Ehrmann (Egeus), Laura Huizenga (Helena), Timothy Edward Kane (Theseus/Oberon), Tim Kazurinsky (Peter Quince), Elizabeth Ledo (Puck), Michael Aaron Lindner (Snout), Richard Manera (Snug), Evan Michalic (Ensemble), Christina Nieves (Hermia), Sean Parris (Philostrate), Levenix Riddle (Flute), Matt Schwader (Demetrius), Rod Thomas (Starveling), and Andrew Truschinski (Lysander).

The production team will include scenic designer Daniel Ostling, costume designer Mara Blumenfeld, lighting designer Philip S. Rosenberg, projection designer Mike Tutaj, and sound designers Michael Bodeen and Rob Milburn.
