Carey Mulligan Wins Two Awards from the Chicago Film Critics’ Association

Carey Mulligan, who appeared last season as Nina in Ian Rickson’s Broadway revival of The Seagull, has won two awards from the Chicago Film Critics’ Association as Best Actress and Most Promising Performer for her turn in An Education, according to Variety.

The movie The Hurt Locker has dominated the CFCA honors, winning Best Picture in addition to the awards earned by director Kathryn Bigelow, lead actor Jeremy Renner, screenwriter Mark Boal for his original screenplay and cinematographer Barry Ackroyd.
Mo’nique has picked up a Best Supporting Actress honor for her performance in Precious while Christoph Waltz has received a Supporting Actor Award for his turn in Inglourious Basterds.

Meryl Streep, Michael Stuhlbarg, Woody Harrelson, Natalie Portman, Julianne Moore, and Stanley Tucci were among the other actors nominated by the group for their work.
