Joe Tippett to Join Betsy Wolfe in Broadway's Waitress

Tippett will take on the role of Earl, which he originated at American Repertory Theatre.

Joe Tippett, who originated the role of Earl in the American Repertory Theatre production of Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson's Waitress will join the cast of the Broadway production on June 13. He will play Earl opposite Betsy Wolfe, replacing Will Swenson and Bareilles who depart on June 11.

The current company also includes Eric Anderson (Cal), Charity Angél Dawson (Becky), Chris Diamantopoulos (Dr. Pomatter), Tony Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald (Ogie), Caitlin Houlahan (Dawn), Dakin Matthews (Joe), Matt DeAngelis, Cate Elefante, Thay Floyd, Henry Gottfried, Molly Hager, Aisha Jackson, Molly Jobe, Max Kumangai, Anastacia McClesky, Ella Dane Morgan, Jeremy Morse, Olivia Phillip, Stephanie Torns, and Ryan Vasquez.

Waitress premiered in 2015 at American Repertory Theater in Boston. The musical is directed by Diane Paulus, choreographed by Lorin Latarro, and designed by Scott Pask (sets), Suttirat Larlarb (costumes), Christopher Akerlind (lighting), and Jonathan Deans (sound).
