The Alabama Shakespeare Festival is set to present Tennessee Williams's The Glass Menagerie from October 13-November 5. Tony Award winner John Lloyd Young (Jersey Boys) will take on the role of Tom Wingfield, with David Ellenstein, producing artistic director of North Coast Repertory Theatre in San Diego, helming the production.

The cast will also feature Greta Lambert as Amanda Wingfield, Kevin Earley as the Gentleman Caller, and Christina King as Laura Wingfield.

The Glass Menagerie centers on the Wingfield family, who are transformed by a visit from a "gentleman caller" for Laura. Largely autobiographical, the play is based on memory and highlights the power one's family can have on another's trajectory.

The design team includes Brenda Van Der Wiel (costumes), Peter Hicks (set), Phil Monat (lighting), and William Burns (sound).
