Christopher Innvar and Telly Leung will star in the Philadelphia Theatre Company's production of David Henry Hwang's M. Butterfly, January 18-February 24. The production will be directed by Joe Calarco.

The play, which won the 1988 Tony Award, is inspired by a true story, and tells the tale of a French diplomat who falls in love with a Chinese opera singer who is much more than she seems. The cast will also include Jared Michael Delaney, Doan Ly, Anne Marie Nest, Larry Petersen, and Susan Wilder.

Innvar, who will portray Gallimard, has starred on Broadway in 110 in the Shade, The Threepenny Opera, and Les Miserables. Leung, who will play Song, is currently featured in the Broadway ensemble of Rent. His other Broadway credits include Pacific Overtures and Flower Drum Song.

Hwang is currently represented Off-Broadway with Yellow Face at the Public Theater, and his other works include Golden Child, F.O.B., The Dance and the Railroad, and the books to Tarzan, Aida, and the revisal of Flower Drum Song. Calarco is best known for his direction of Shakespeare's R&J.
