David Pittu's comedy with music, What's That Smell: The Music of Jacob Sterling, which recently closed at Atlantic Stage 2, will transfer to New World Stages, beginning November 1.
The show, which also stars Pittu in the title role, co-stars Peter Bartlett, is co-directed by Pittu and Atlantic Artistic Director Neil Pepe, and features original music by Randy Redd. The musical parody charts the career of eternally up-and-coming (and fictitious) musical theater composer, who performs from his songbook and shares his human struggle to keep musical theater alive and well into the 21st century. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
The production features scenic design by Takeshi Kata, costume design by Martin Pakledinaz, lighting design by Matthew Richards, sound design by Jill DuBoff, and projection design by Dustin O'Neill.
