The League of Professional Theatre Women has announced the public events that it will offer during the fall.

Stage and screen star Kathleen Turner will take part in a public conversation about her life and career on Monday, October 4 at 6pm at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Producer Elizabeth Ireland McCann will conduct the interview, which is part of the League’s Oral History Project, which chronicles and documents the contributions of significant theater women in many disciplines.

At this event, Barranger will present her recently published book, A Gamblers Instinct: The Story of Broadway Producer Cheryl Crawford. During Barranger’s appearance she will draw upon the Library’s archive to illustrate her talk on Crawford’s producing career.

Finally, on December 9, the League will host its annual awards luncheon at Sardi’s Restaurant. At this event the League will bestow its Lifetime Achievement Awardl the Josphine Abady Award, which recognizes an emerging director or producer; and the Lee Reynolds Award, which is given to a woman whose work for, in, about or through the medium of theater has helped illuminate the possibilities for social, cultural or political change. Recipients of the awards will be announced at a later date.
