Best Plays of 2007-2008 Now Available in Stores

Best Plays of 2007-2008, published by Limelight Editions, is now available in stores. The ten works included in the volume were selected by editor Jeffrey Alan Jenkins and his editorial board, and all played in New York between June 1, 2007 and May 31, 2008. An essay accompanies each selection.

This year's plays and musicals include Jason Loewith and Joshua Schmidt's Adding Machine (essayist, Jeffrey Sweet); Tracy Letts' August: Osage County (essayist, Chris Jones); Horton Foote's Dividing the Estate (essayist, Garrett Eisler); Sarah Ruhl's eurydice (essayist, Celia Wren); Aaron Sorkin's The Farnsworth Invention (essayist, Christopher Rawson); Kate Fodor's 100 Saints You Should Know (essayist, John Istel); Adam Bock's The Receptionist (essayist, David Cote); Tom Stoppard's Rock 'n' Roll (essayist, Charles Wright); Conor McPherson's The Seafarer (essayist, Charles McNulty); and David Henry Hwang's Yellow Face (essayist, Dan Bacalzo).

Edward Albee's Peter and Jerry received a special citation, and the volume also includes this year's winners of the American Theatre Critics Association's awards and citations: Moises Kaufman's 33 Variations; Deborah Zoe Laufer's End Days; and Ruhl's Dead Man's Cellphone.
