A road tour of the Broadway musical The Wedding Singer will begin on September 7, 2007 at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis. No other details on the tour have yet been made available. In addition, negotiations and discussions with production companies in Japan, Korea, Germany, and the UK are underway.

In related news, fans can download a free track of the musical's opening number, "It's Your Wedding Day," via Apple's iTUNES until midnight on Tuesday, June 13. That song is being used as the theme for The Today Show's five-month series on weddings. The original cast recording of The Wedding Singer, on the Masterworks Broadway label, was released nationwide on Tuesday.

The Wedding Singer stars Stephen Lynch, Laura Benanti, Amy Spanger, Matthew Saldivar, Kevin Cahoon, Felicia Finley, Richard Blake, and Rita Gardner. The show is nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Actor in a Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Musical Score, and Best Choreography. The Tonys will be presented on Sunday, June 11 at Radio City Music Hall.
