Richard Griffiths to Appear at Macy's Herald Square Tree Lighting

Tony Award winner Richard Griffiths, who is currently starring as Dr. Martin Dysart in the Broadway revival of Equus, will read the classic poem "The Night Before Christmas," as part of the Macy's Herald Square Holiday Tree Lighting, to take place in front of the famed department store at 6:30pm on Sunday, November 23.

Other participants in the event will include Kermit the Frog, Grandma (from the Big Apple Circus), The Mistletones, and Santa Claus.

Griffiths won the Tony for his work in The History Boys and also starred in the film version. His other film credits include the Harry Potter series, as well as Gandhi and The French Lieutenant's Woman; he will soon appear opposite Adam Sandler in the upcoming Disney film Bedtime Stories.
