Grammy Award winner and theater star Sting and Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning book writer and lyricist Brian Yorkey are developing a new musical The Last Ship, according to The New York Times.

According to the report, the work, which features an original score by Sting and a book by Mr. Yorkey, centers on Gideon, a 30something man who returns to his home in Newcastle, England. Yorkey will direct the show's upcoming readings in October.

Sting appeared on Broadway as Macheath in the 1989 revival of Threepenny Opera. Yorkey is best known for his work on the musical Next to Normal.
