VIDEO FLASH: Punchdrunk Releases Information About The Crash of the Elysium, Based on Television’s Doctor Who

Punchdrunk has released a short video teaser, along with some details its new show, The Crash of the Elysium. As previously announced, the piece, based on the television series Doctor Who, will premiere at the Manchester International Festival, running July 1-17. The trailer features current Doctor Who actor, Matt Smith.

The production, created by Felix Barrett and Tom MacRae and based on an original idea by series head writer Steven Moffat, centers around the wreck of the steamship and an exploration inside the remains. The show is aimed at children between the ages of six and twelve and will allow the young theatergoers to become part of the live adventure, which is supported by two newly created websites: one for the Northwest Historical Society and one for a diver who has been exploring the wreckage (click here).

There will be two different types of performances of The Crash of the Elysium at the Festival: children only performances and family performances. Children outside of the 6-12 age range will not be admitted, nor will adults unless they are accompanying children as part of the Family Performances.
